| Description: | Given the carnage on Wall Street and in the economy, you might need to secure a contingency plan, just in case. For Chinese expatriates living in San Diego, returning to China is one of the available options that have picked up steam recently. "Hai Gui" is the Chinese name for "Sea Turtles" and the homonym for "Returnees from Overseas". The phenomenon of the massive return of overseas trained Chinese has been called "Reverse Brain-drain" or "Repatriation" in the western media. It signifies the recognition of the sweeping reform and rapid economic development in China, which attract professionals over the world to explore opportunities in the Middle Kingdom.
To shed more light on this new trend and answer questions you might have regarding the changing tides across the Pacific Ocean, we invite locally groomed Hai Guis to present round table discussion on a quarterly basis. Last April we had a productive meeting with two Hai Guis. This time our keynote speaker is: Dr. Youbin Chen: Former BOD member of CAST. Currently he is the chairman of Micro Pattern, Inc. and professor at Qinghua University. We invite like-minded San Diegans to join us for an open discussion on issues related to the Hai Gui phenomenon from A to Z. Bring your questions, be it how to deal with reverse culture shock or how to re-align your career goals. Two heads are better than one!

Having two campuses in Sorrento Valley and Ranch Benardo, Yucai Chinese School is a magnet for school-aged children to develop their potentials from academic to arts, from Chinese to math, from dancing to singing, and from kindergarteners to young leaders. Do not miss the chance for your kids to have an afterschool program full of learning and fun! Visit their offices or website for more details.
