The program will include works by the great Gods of music: Beethoven, Schubert, Piazzolla, Chopin, etc. This is the first installment of what is to be an annual event for graduating high school seniors, who want to share their love and talents for music with others. Come and enjoy the breathtaking music, interpreted magnificently by the young musicians, with ease and power.

Margaret Zhou, 17, cellist, has won numerous awards, including the 2005 San Diego Symphony Young Artist Competition. She placed first in the 2006 San Diego the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC) VOCE competition, Senior Division, the 2006 Los Angeles Violoncello Society Scholarship Audition, H.B. Goodlin Scholarship Competition, Senior Instumental Division, 2008 La Jolla Symphony & chorus Young Artists competition, 2008 Torrance Symphony Young Artists Competition, 2009 MTAC San Dieog Conderto Competition, Senior Instumental Division, and Grossmont Community concert Association Music Scholarship Competition.

Steven Burnett, 18, is a cellist and a pianist. In 1999 Steven won first place in the MTAC Sonata contest (piano). In 2002, 2006, and 2007 he competed in higher divisions and placed third. In 2000 and 2001, steven and his sister Tracy placed second in the MTAC Piano Duo competition. Steven won the 2004 MTAC Piano Concerto Competition. Steven participates in a chamber music groun on cello at the california Institute of Music, and in 2007 and 2008 his group took first place in the San Deigo Branch of the MTAC VOCE competition. In 2007 his grouup took tird place atthe MTAC State VOCE competition.
