We are pleased to announce the kickoff lecture of Boya Forum by Peking University Alumni Association at San Diego. The objective of Boya Forum is to continue Beida's tradition of bringing visionary leaders in various professions to speak to enrich our members. Dr. Liu, Jun will serve as the speaker for the kickoff lecture to talk about China's financial market. Following is the event announcement:
Boya Forum Kickoff Lecture: Growth Prospects of China’s Financial Market
China’s financial market has experienced explosive growth in the past decade. How will China’s financial market perform in the next decade? What are the most exciting opportunities and innovations? In this talk Prof Liu Jun will share his vision on the growth prospects of China’s financial market based on his research and personal experiences. He will discuss China's currency reform, opportunities in options market, capital structures of Chinese companies and dividend of Chinese companies. Come and join us in November 13 at UCSD. Speaker Bio Professor Liu, Jun is currently associate professor of finance at UCSD Rady School of Management. He is also the Dean and Professor at Southwest University of Finance and Economics, School of Finance in Chengdu, China. Dr Liu attained his Bachelor degree in physics from Peking University in 1982, Ph.D in physics from University of Texas, Austin, and Ph.D. in finance from Stanford University in 2000. Dr. Liu is a top expert in asset pricing and investment theory. He has published many papers in top tier finance and economics journals such as Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics and Review of Financial Studies. His research has earned BGI/Michael Brennan Best Paper Award in Review of Financial Studies in 2005. Currently Prof. Liu splits his time between the US and China. He is a recognized leader in the area of China’s financial reform and has advised China's State Council on financial reform.

On Route 5 South, Take exit 29 for Genesee Ave, Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Genesee Ave W and merge onto Genesee Ave, Turn left at N Torrey Pines Rd, Turn left at UCSD Northpoint Driveway, Continue onto Hopkins Dr, Turn left at Voigt Dr. When you encounter a T-section with Engineering Lane, turn LEFT to the parking lot.
Park your car and walk across Voigt Drive. There is a tunnel under a building. Walk throught the tunnel, you will see the back of a gigantic, stone Bear. Keep walking passing the bear (just leave the bear alone), and you will see CSE building. The lecture hall is on the first floor right after you enter the main door.
